Free to download: Crossing Bok Chitto: A Choctaw Tale of Friendship and Freedom
Just in time for American Indian Heritage Month, Crossing Bok Chitto introduces students in grades 2–6 to a little-known part of history: the relationship between Choctaw Indians and slaves who lived in Mississippi during the time before the Civil War. The book will be available as a free download throughout the month of November at www.kidthing.com/nea.
